The Second Cruiser
An old admiral was famous in the navy for his bad temper, so everyone tried hard not to annoy him.
One week his ships were going to take part in a big internati onal exercise, so he came on board in the evening. Hand his dinner and then went to bed. In the morning he had his breakfast early,came up to the bridge and examined the ships in his group carefully. Then he said angrily, “ There should be two cruisers in this group, but I can only see one. Where’s the other?” No one dared to answer, and this made the admiral even angrier. His face became redder and redder.
“Well?” he should. “What are you fools hiding from me? Where’s the second cruiser? What’s happened to it? Answer me!”
At last a young sailor found enough courage to speak.
“Please, sir,” he said.“ You’re on it.”
另一艘巡洋舰
一个老海军上将的坏脾气在军队里非常有名，人们都尽力避免着不去招惹他。有一个礼拜他的舰队要参加一次大型的国际学习，因此，他晚上便登上船，吃过饭后就睡觉去了。第二天，吃过早餐后，来到驾驶台上对他的军舰进行仔细地检查。不一针儿，他便生气地说：“”在舰队中应有两艘巡洋舰，可是我现在只看到了一艘。另一艘在哪里？“没有人敢回答他，这令上次更加愤怒了。他的脸色变得通红起来。
“好啊，“他吼道，‘你们这些笨蛋在掩饰些什么？另一艘巡洋艘在哪儿/它到底
发生了什么？回答我！”
最后，一名年轻的水手鼓足了勇气：“报告，长官，您正踩着它呢！”
